György Cziffra, French-Hungarian virtuoso pianist and composer. Born on November 5, 1921, in Budapest, Cziffra was celebrated for his extraordinary technical prowess and interpretations of Franz Liszt and Frédéric Chopin.
His career gained prominence in the 1940s and continued to flourish through the 1960s. Imprisonment during World War II, Cziffra’s escaped to Vienna, marking the beginning of his international career.
